Majk Stokes: Songs For The 2020's

Thursday 12th March 2026
Committee Room No9, 18 John Street, Glasgow, G1 1JQ.
Doors 16:50 Show 17:00
A GICF 2026 Show

Through comedy songs and poems, Majk Stokes (it’s pronounced ‘Mike’), once described as “Bill Bailey’s good-looking younger brother”, uses his sharp but gentle humour to explore some of the issues that face us all today, such as computers, coffee, politics, AI and social media, the environment and Donald Trump… and finds the funny side. (There is one, honest!)
Majk Stokes is a comedy singer-songwriter, poet, multi-instrumentalist, environmentalist and Quaker, based in Edinburgh. His subject matter takes in everything from archaeology and deep ecology to science fiction and superheroes, and his style might be described as a blend of Tom Lehrer, Bob Dylan, Bill Bailey, Brian Bilston and Billy Bragg – but do strain off all those B’s or they’ll give you indigestion.

“The combined styles and wit of Bob Dylan and Tom Lehrer” – Stagewhispers, Adelaide

“His original songs are both witty and poignant” – British Theatre Guide

Committee Room No9, 18 John Street, Glasgow, G1 1JQ.
Doors 19:50 Show 20:00
A GICF 2026 Show

“They said I was crazy. Then they died.”

After years of being called crazy for thinking critically about mainstream narratives, which led to him being effectively cancelled, Billy Watson gets a rare chance to air his views in his own one man show.

Conspiracy Theorist is a dark humorous look into the absurdity of modern life, the manipulation of reality, and the emotional toll of asking questions in a world gone mad.

Brave, truthful and uncompromising – this show takes you on Billy’s journey of waking up to the media’s lies, trying to educate friends and family, before taking his theories to the stage.

It’s about surviving in a world where his crazy theories suddenly don’t seem that crazy anymore. If only some had listened before it was too late……

Don’t make that mistake, come and see his show, while we’re still allowed to laugh at the insanity…….just.

Tuesday 17th March 2026
Committee Room No9, 18 John Street, Glasgow, G1 1JQ.
Doors 17:50 Show 18:00
A GICF 2026 Show

“Master clown” Dru Cripps presents his phenomenally successful loopstation-based shenanigans – a show so good it earned five 5-star reviews and sold out Edinburgh completely. “No wonder it keeps selling out.”

This quadruple award-winner (British Comedy Guide, Malcolm Hardee, Comedy Store King Gong, Solo FX Sponsorship) and BBC New Comedian of the Year nominee uses questionable musical abilities and dangerous levels of confidence. Armed with his trusty loopstation, he transforms audience suggestions into improvised songs, spontaneous musical sketches, and “utterly winning” chaos in real-time.

As seen on BBC, ITV and Dave, Dru was nominated for Edinburgh Fringe Comedian of the Year for this show that leaves audiences “rolling in the aisles laughing”. It really has to be seen to be misunderstood.

Every performance is completely different. Every audience becomes part of the beautiful musical carnage.

Tuesday 17th March 2026
Committee Room No9, 18 John Street, Glasgow, G1 1JQ.
Doors 19:20 Show 19:30
A GICF 2026 Show

Sean Chalmers is a raw comic story teller straight outta Airdrie who isn't afraid to get deep.

His work-in-progress show comes to the GICF after a successful year traveling the UK comedy scene as Aberdeen Fringe Finalist 2024. During this, he found his voice bringing light to topics often stigmatised and sharing his views on the care system, mental health advocacy and addiction.

Sean was a finalist in So You Think You're Funny? 2025, in review of the evening, Sean was described as : "Most poignant of the lot was Sean Chalmers, with a poignant tribute to the foster parents who raised him and a powerful, affecting account of his suicidal depression. He's got a good few gags which will no doubt form the backbone of the one man show which already seems his destiny." Steve Bennett, Chortle.

Come along and don't leave him hanging.

Born in India in the 90s, Adi Parmar (gay) did not imagine that he will be writing this blurb about his debut comedy show one day.
And today, as he writes it, he is wondering if he should say something like, ‘this show cannot be described with one word’ (pretentious) or ‘this show is about fatherhood’ (mundane, not ENTIRELY true). Instead, he is asking the question,

Is fatherhood real or is it a lie made up by BIG childhood to sell MORE therapy?

Join Adi Parmar, as he recalls his unforgettable childhood in North India (India) and processes it through his unexpected fatherhood in North Holland (Netherlands) and makes sense of it all through the best medicine there is: Laughter (hahaha).
